I found this interesting.
Mountain View Country Club ( my employer ) pumped over 540 million gallons of water to irrigate the golf course. The cost of that water was the same amount of money the clubhouse spent on bottled water, about $40,000.
1. The cost of bottle water is ridiculous.
2. The cost of irrigation water is cheap.
That $40,000 number is a little misleading. It does not cost $40,000 to water my golf course. The water itself is $40,000. The electricity to pump that water onto the golf course is another $110,000.
